. Application deadline: April 1, 2026.
Introduction
The Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) is pleased to announce the upcoming launch of the Yukon Network Environments for Indigenous Health Research (NEIHR) Centre Operating Grant Funding Opportunity.
Overview
This funding opportunity is one of several that are part of the NEIHR Program. In 2019, CIHR funded nine (9) NEIHR Centres based in the following regions: Atlantic, Quebec, Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, British Columbia, Nunavut and the Northwest Territories. CIHR is now looking to extend the regional coverage of the NEIHR Program with the Yukon NEIHR Centre Operating Grant Funding Opportunity.
The Yukon NEIHR Centre Operating Grant Funding Opportunity
will support the implementation of the Yukon NEIHR Centre and contribute to the Indigenous health research environment driven by and grounded in Indigenous communities in Canada. Indigenous communities are broadly defined as individuals, groups, organizations, and populations who self-identify as Indigenous (First Nations, Inuit and/or Métis) living and working anywhere in Canada.
The Yukon NEIHR Centre will increase awareness and capacity of health research that is relevant to Indigenous Peoples’ cultures, values, beliefs, and that is inclusive of community members actively contributing to health research. The Centre will also allow for the continued support of the overall Indigenous health research network environment through the
NEIHR Program
.
